How to accurately measure carpet pile depth
Carpet pile depth classifications
Low Pile Carpet: Less than 6mm (¼")

Standard Pile Carpet: Less than 9mm (3/8")

Medium Pile Carpet: Less than 12mm (¾")
​
Deep Pile Carpet: Over 12mm (¾")
